Short history of beer:

A story about Schwechater beer goes back to 1632 when “Brauerei Klein-Schwechat” was founded by Peter Descrolier during the Thirty Years War. The real success for Schwechater beer comes in the 18th century when the brewery was bought by Franz Anton Dreher. From this moment Schwechater beer starts to expand and in the 19th century Scwechater beer is becoming to be known outside borders of Austria.

Ottakringer beer got his name from the 16th Viennese district named "Ottakring". Ottakringer brewery is the last remaining big brewery in Vienna and it represents a big pride for citizens of Vienna.  Prior to Ottakringer brewery there was a brewery called “Planksche Brauerei” (established in 1837) from which the Ottakringer brewery was made out.

Zwettler beer originates from Zwettl, small town in Lower Austria. Zwettler brewery was founded in 1708. Zwettl is known by production of high quality beer and this is mainly due to local Cistercian monks which kept tradition of brewing high quality beer. The Zwettler brewery has started as a small private brewery whose beer was intended for needs of respective restaurant and over time developed in one of the well known Austrian beer brands.
